Gaia Converter extended its ultra wide input voltage range DC-DC converter platform with the new Hi-Rel MGDD-20W series, targeting military and airborne applications. Uniquely wide, the MGDD-20 series 9 – 60 V and 80 V transient input voltage range is ideal to comply with Mil-Std-1275, 704 or DO-160 standards without an additional front end protection device.
With two outputs (for parallel, series or symmetrical operation) of 5 V, 12 V, 15 V and 24 V, they can cover a wide variety of needs, such as single 5 to 48 V output, ±15 V or 2 x 24 V outputs (30 W each) for example. Packaged in the low profile industry standard 25,4 x 31,75 mm housing, the devices have a wide temperature range of -55°C to +105°C and are potted to fit rugged military and airborne environmental conditions.
The units are full featured and protected with zero- to full-load regulation, trim and on/off capability, adjustable UVLO, softstart, embedded EMI filter as well as over-current and over-temperature protection. They can also be synchronised and/or paralleled for addedpower or N+1 redundancy. Designed for rugged applications, the MGDDI-21 series do not use any optocoupler.
