Sumitomo Electric Industries has given its flagship T-71C fusion splicer a host of upgrades to further its aim of delivering ultra-fast splicing of fibre-optic cabling in every environment. Compact, lightweight and rugged, the new T-71C+ achieves a 6 second splice time and 14 second heat shrink time in Quick Mode. It features two independent heaters and touch screen control panel for simple and productive operation.
Furthermore, the T-71C+ provides users with Wireless LAN connectivity to improve productivity, asset management and job completion reporting. The Wireless LAN option enables a connection between the unit and Sumitomo’s SumiCloud system via an Android smartphone app. Users of the app can enjoy a wide range of benefits, including help tools, splice data management, reporting and splicer test verification functionality in the field.
