Indium announced the release of PoP Flux 89LV-P, a bright pink-coloured, no-clean, thixotropic flux that helps engineers to ‘avoid the void’ by greatly improving visual inspection to minimise voiding and other defects.
Designed for package-on-package assembly applications, the flux contains a pink dye that is highly visible to the naked eye but is not picked up by automated vision systems. Therefore, it does not cause false rejects on equipment that cannot decipher greyscale differences.
“You can practically see our new pink flux from outer space,” said Christopher Nash, PCBA New Product Development Manager. “Of course, that is an exaggeration, but it is very easy to visually inspect. This allows quick confirmation that the flux is present while setting up the process or performing visual process verification.”
In addition to its visual properties, PoP Flux 89LV-P has a unique activator system that provides enhanced solderability onto all common metallisations.
