The JMA-165 accelerometer series, the latest addition to Jewell Instruments’ RailStar and MEMS sensor lines, is claimed to be the industry’s first MEMS sensor to meet CENELEC/AREMA requirements for rail transportation.
Utilising MEMS capacitive technology, the JMA series is a cost-effective and viable alternative to traditional precision sensors for rail applications. It has ±0,5 G and ±1 G measuring ranges with a built-in heater available for reduced thermal drift. To suit environmental standards, the series is RoHs compliant.
The JMA series is ideal for providing feedback on the performance and control of passenger trains. It can be used for automated train controls, acceleration/deceleration control, rail maintenance and testing, and train performance and testing.
