Common mode chokes for high-speed signals

10 August 2016 Passive Components

Coilcraft’s new 0805USBN Series common mode chokes measure 2,0 x 1,2 mm with a maximum height of 0,93 mm. With up to 6,5 GHz differential-mode 3 dB cutoff frequency, and up to 35 dB common mode noise attenuation across a wide frequency range up to the GHz band, they are suited for noise suppression in super high-speed signal lines such as USB 3.x, HDMI 2.0, HDBaseT, DisplayPort and DVI. They are also suitable for high-speed differential signal lines such as USB 2.0, IEEE1394 and LVDS, and are compatible with the USB Type-C specification 1.0.

The series offers a DCR of 0,11 to 0,63 and current ratings up to 0,5 A, and the chokes are available in eight impedance values to meet specific design requirements. All 0805USBN common mode chokes are halogen free, feature RoHS compliant matte tin over nickel over silver-platinum-glass frit terminations, and have an ambient temperature rating of -40°C to +125°C.
