Drivers for flicker-free indoor LED lighting

5 October 2016 Power Electronics / Power Management

Mean Well recently unveiled two indoor LED drivers with flicker-free design: the IDLC family in a plastic case and the IDPC family in PCB format. Adopting constant current output mode operation and with active power factor correction (PFC), the first models in the series are the 45 Watt IDLC-45 and IDPC-45.

IDLC and IDPC series both accept 90 – 295 V a.c. full range input, providing various models with 350, 500, 700, 1050 and 1400 mA constant current output and a working efficiency up to 86%. They are compliant with UL8750, ENEC EN61347-1,-2-13 and GB19510.1,.14 international safety regulations for LED lighting.

The standard product has a built-in 2-in-1 dimming function (12 V/50 mA auxiliary output is also offered) so that LED luminaire system designers can take advantage of higher flexibility while planning the layout. These two series are suitable to be applied to indoor LED luminaires requiring flicker-free operation and low power consumption, such as LED panel lighting and LED flood lighting.
