Panasonic Factory Solutions has launched PanaCIM Work-in-Process Solution, a deeper, more inclusive enterprise-level software innovation especially suited to tracking and controlling production, from receiving to shipping and every process in between. A new, tenth module addition to the multi-award winning PanaCIM Enterprise Edition manufacturing execution system (MES) software package, PanaCIM Work-in-Process is a highly configurable framework that integrates different factory automation systems into a single network for traceability of any product, any process, regardless of manufacturing mix or volume.
A work station interface provides the foundation for data collection, work instructions, and factory operations for discrete manufacturers. The graphical interface allows for the creation of unlimited processes, installs with minimal hardware requirements, and accommodates new documentation versions to be added before rollout. Processes can be created via a simple drag-and-drop procedure; sensors, automation, and even manual processes can be integrated, so manufacturers can know which steps a product has completed, and then enforce route control. Custom conditions can be accommodated to provide non-linear process plan capability, all to ensure the utmost quality.
According to Ramesh Narayanan, GM of software development, Panasonic Factory Solutions, “The real beauty of PanaCIM Work-in-Process is that it integrates complex process data in the background, and presents it to the user in a simple, easy-to-use program. For management, traceability can be reported throughout an entire manufacturing process and include as much standard/user-defined data (i.e. cycle time, quality, OEE and customer data points) as desired.”
PanaCIM Work-in-Process is capable of defining trace data at the individual part level, defining inventory locations for any factory floor, and providing a mobile experience for inventory staff. It is fully compatible with PanaCIM Enterprise Edition and PanaCIM Maintenance.

The way copper grains are sized and distributed forms the metallurgical foundation of hybrid bonding, enabling lower bonding temperatures, greater reliability, and stable grain structures throughout integration.
Read more...Understanding solder dross: causes and control strategies Truth Electronic Manufacturing
Editor's Choice Manufacturing / Production Technology, Hardware & Services
Dross formation is an inevitable consequence of wave soldering. It occurs when molten solder comes into contact with oxygen, forming metal oxides that float on the surface of the solder bath. Over time, this oxidation byproduct accumulates and must be removed to maintain solder quality and process consistency.
