Kevin Nicholls, TTI’s general manager for the UK, Ireland and South Africa, visited local representative TRX Electronics in February for the purposes of stimulating awareness and reinforcing existing relationships with local customers.
“Our relationship with TRX goes back two decades and our engagement gets stronger and closer every year,” he stated. “TRX and TTI are together providing value to our customers and suppliers every day, and that is why the number of customers we deal with increases every year.”
Nicholls noted that he sees similarities between the markets in SA and the UK, with opportunities in industrial, defence and automotive as well as some niche markets: “We are extremely pleased with the work that TRX is doing within SA and I am sure the customers feel the same way.
“We are now taking our partnership with TRX to another level as we look to improve on the current business levels as TTI has significantly increased its inventory to support TRX’s new and existing customers . We are both very keen to increase our support to the engineering community in South Africa with new product introductions whilst also focussing on the existing projects and markets.”
This was Nicholls’ first trip to SA but it won’t be his last, with a follow-up planned for October this year. While in the country, it wasn’t all work and no play as he was able to make time for some touristy activities. “I have always had an ambition to visit this country and I found the whole experience exhilarating. Fortunately whilst in Cape Town I managed to visit Table Mountain which was amazing - that’s another item off my bucket list!” he said.
