In line with its vision to provide turnkey test solutions to its customers, Mateq Systems has expanded its business
offering over the past three years beyond providing its own generic MultiMac solution and into developing generic or custom solutions based on National Instrument’s PXI hardware using Labview and TestStand.
Mainly focused on either development or production areas, in the past the company’s test solutions typically resulted in traditional, large 19” test benches, but as of late it also offers rugged, compact, easily transportable test solutions dedicated to customers’ after-sales requirements.
The company moved into new premises in Centurion’s Highveld Techno Park last year.
As a result of this expansion to its offering, Mateq found itself short on space and was inevitably compelled to relocate to larger premises, thus manifesting in a move to Highveld Techno Park in Centurion during the second half of 2015. The increased workload also resulted in a need for more human resources, so the company effectively doubled its staff complement by appointing two additional electronic engineers, a senior electronic technician and a general technician.
Making a particular contribution to Mateq’s recent success was the conclusion of a formal service level agreement with one of its customers to support what will soon be six MultiMac test benches, including all test interfaces situated at Parsec’s and Omnigo’s production facilities. Another recent accolade was the addition of Saab Grintek Defence to the company’s customer list, together with a first order which entails assistance with upgrading its current test equipment to new required specifications.
Mateq has branched out into transportable test solutions for after-sales requirements.
Mateq’s management is optimistic about the future and is committed to continuously looking for ways to improve its offerings so as to complement its customers’ approaches and views in order to guarantee optimal value from testing their products and supporting their customers. One example of this was the recent acquisition of the JTAG Technologies agency. By combining JTAG’s boundary scan tools and capabilities with Mateq’s functional test solution expertise, the company will be able to offer its customers even more comprehensive test solutions going forward.
