Pretoria-based IPD electronics has been appointed as the local distributor for America II Electronics, one of the world’s largest distributors of semiconductors and electronic components.
America II partners with the world’s top manufacturers and serves as a primary supplier for OEM and EMS customers around the world, with 4 billion parts in stock and ready to ship from its facility in Florida, USA. Having stayed somewhat under the radar since it started business in 1989, the company is in the midst of a rapid growth period as a result of its shift from being an independent distributor to a franchised sales model. It now has over 70 franchise lines and made its first ever appearance on EBN’s top 25 global franchised distributors list for 2016, launching straight into a remarkable 16th place.
Founded fairly recently – in 2012 – IPD Electronics’ management team nevertheless boasts more than 20 years of experience in the industry, and its emphasis on personalised sourcing services has helped it foster a healthy stable of suppliers, of which America II is the latest and the largest.
