Koh Young’s KY-P3 M3 pin and terminal automated inspection solution is designed to overcome long-standing industry challenges like escapes and false calls within the automotive, industrial and computer industries, as well as the backplane and connector markets. By incorporating the industry’s first full 3D quad-projection probe, the KY-P3 delivers shadow-free measurement of 25 mm tall pins with exceptional repeatability.
Additionally, the ‘Stop & Go’ inspection process captures highly accurate, true 3D measurement data since it eliminates system vibration, image stitching, and data interpolation. What’s more, the new M3 model incorporates a dual lane reciprocating shuttle to maximise machine efficiency.
The system checks that a wide range of pins, including single pin, press-fit, fork pin, pins into chamber (ECU) are correctly aligned with the designated holes in the circuit board. Advanced 3D imaging technology measures the pin height with ±0,75% height accuracy based on KY calibration targets.
