Maxim announces changes in European distribution

Maxim Integrated Products has announced a consolidation of its European-based distribution network. Integrated circuits from both Maxim and its wholly-owned subsidiary Dallas Semiconductor are now distributed by CST Electronics in South Africa.

Jeff Walls, Director of European Distribution Sales for Maxim and Dallas Semiconductor, commented on the consolidation: "It was clear after Maxim's acquisition of Dallas Semiconductor in April of this year that the two companies were collectively selling through too many distribution channels. Both companies felt that we would benefit from fewer distributors with increased focus on selling the combined product lines.

"We believe that this consolidation will increase efficiencies for the many end customers who want to order products from both Maxim and Dallas Semiconductor," he added.

Maxim Integrated Products is a leading international supplier of quality analog and mixed-signal products for applications that require real-world signal processing.
