AAD signs sub-distribution agreement with Components & System Design

7 November 2001 News

Arrow Altech Distribution and Components & System Design (CSD) have signed a sub-distribution agreement which provides CSD with exclusive buying and selling rights to the ST Microelectronics (STM) range of PSD devices (formerly Waferscale) and the embedded STM microcontrollers in South Africa. Because Arrow Altech has been acting as the prime South African distributor of the entire range of ST Microelectronics semiconductor products for the past 18 months, CSD will also become actively involved in designs on other STM parts.

Says Tony Boardman, General Manager responsible for Arrow Altech's Industrial Components Group, "The main purpose of our partnership with CSD is to aggressively market ST Microelectronics' products in the industry, but we believe that CSD's expertise in design services and technical support will in time also become a valuable asset to numerous other strategic suppliers on our line card. We are excited about our newfound relationship with CSD as it will definitely contribute towards maintaining our strategy of continued service excellence to all our customers."

Says Kevin Jurrius, Managing Director of Components & System Design, "CSD specialises in added value distribution of electronic components by complementing the distribution business with FAE support and design services. The agreement with Arrow Altech is an extension of our existing distribution business and we are confident that it will be mutually beneficial to both companies."
