The identification of a need within the growing telecommunications market in Africa to provide cost-effective and reliable communications led to the formation of Satellite Wireless Networking. Since the company's inception in late 2001, it has been supplying satellite, terrestrial and Internet related services to users on the African continent.
Sarel Taute, managing director of Satellite Wireless Networking, describes the company as a solutions provider that has the ability to integrate both old and new wireless and related technologies to produce best practice communication systems for any given application.

"The lack of physical infrastructure and poor provision of services in Africa has, until now, denied the corporate, SMME and SOHO markets the access levels they need to prosper both in their own countries and across the continent and even further," Taute says.
"The application of wireless technologies is already having a marked and positive effect in meeting the need of African and multinational business sectors on the continent."
Taute says that Satellite Wireless Networking, as a subsidiary of Multisource Telecoms, a leading specialised wireless telecommunication service provider in southern Africa, is well positioned to service the African continent. The company is fully geared to meet the needs of newly licensed VSAT, ISP and Wireless Local Loop (WLL) operators throughout Africa. In addition, SWN engages with qualified customers and partners to form joint venture operations in selected countries for the provision of VoIP Gateway services, WLL networks and Wireless ISP (WISP) networks.
