Parsec sells Altera agency to EBV-Electrolink

For the last five years Parsec Components has been the sole distributor of Altera Corporation in South Africa.

In recent months, Altera has pursued a worldwide strategy of signing representation agreements with two major international component distribution companies. As part of this process, Altera assisted Parsec Components in negotiating an agreement with EBV in Germany.

Under the terms of this agreement, the local EBV-Electrolink has purchased the Altera Agency from Parsec Components. The agreement became effective on 13 May 2002 and Parsec Component employees Petrus van Heerden and Chris du Toit have relocated to the EBV premises in Johannesburg.

Additionally, provision has been made for continued collaboration between Parsec and EBV-Electrolink.
