ADEC expo ... 12 years later
12 March 2003
Events
In 1993 the first ADEC Expo organised jointly by the ADEC committee (Association of Distributors and Manufacturers of Electronic Components) and Progroup Shows & Conferences was held in the main hall of the Ellis Park Rugby Stadium.
The next four exhibitions took place at Gallagher Estate and this year ADEC 2003 will be held at the Kyalami Exhibition Centre from 16 to 18 September.
Throughout its 12 year history the exhibition has enjoyed overwhelming support from South Africa's electronics and instrumentation industries, both as exhibitors and visitors. Irrespective of the prevailing state of the economy, the exhibition has always been a success where companies could do business and meet existing customers and new prospects.
New spin
This year however, there is a new spin to the opportunities that the expo will offer: PMRA (The Professional Mobile Radio Association) is holding its biennial exhibition in the Conference Centre alongside ADEC 2003 and sharing the same registration facility. And, as an adjunct to the PMRA Expo, the TETRA International two-day conference will be hosted in an adjoining venue. Another new development is that Progroup has taken over full responsibility for stand sales, advertising and promotion and providing all of the services associated with organising the exhibitions.
The product base of ADEC 2003 has been extended to include cabling, networking, protection systems and process control instrumentation. These measures will not dilute the present line-up of electronic and electrical components but rather provide the synergy to broaden target markets and attract more quality visitors.
In support of existing and new product lines the marketing plan of the expo has been extended to create more media exposure. Advertising in South African trade publications has been dramatically increased and an intensive radio advertising campaign is planned.
Companies interested in receiving more information on these exhibitions and the TETRA Conference can contact Progroup, tel. 011 783 9394, fax 011 783 9392, [email protected]
