High-speed leads growth in global amplifier market

High-speed amplifiers, products featuring a gain bandwidth at or over 50 MHz, are quickly progressing into high volume application markets. Fed by broadband and advancing consumer high performance video applications, the high speed amplifier market is expected to reach over $1 billion by 2008 up from $470 million estimated for 2003.
"Product development trends in the high speed analog market include wider voltage supply ranges, lower power consumption, and low noise operation, all required for today's high speed communications and high performance video applications", said Susie Inouye, senior market research analyst at Databeans, a market research firm that specialises in analog IC markets.
According to the group's latest research report on the global amplifier market, it projects a healthy compound annual growth rate of 12% for global amplifier revenue, but projects 18% average annual growth for high speed products.
