The Foxtel DxD 1000 (Digital Cable/Satellite Decoder) is one of 16 product designs that received an SABS disa Design Excellence Award at a gala function held at Gallagher Estate recently.
The products spanned a variety of industrial sectors such as engineering, mining and machinery, as well as medical, homeware and information technology. This award scheme is an initiative of the SABS Design Institute.
The DxD 1000 is a high performance domestic digital receiver/decoder using the most advanced technology currently available. It has been designed to suit the Australian environment and market conditions. The main function of the product is to receive cable or satellite DVB broadcasts and render audio, video and data services. The digital audio and video conform to the MPEG2 standards, whereas the data services are proprietary.
The product fully complies with Australian, South African and European safety and environmental standards. It is housed in an attractive, slimline enclosure and comes with an ergonomically-designed remote control unit.
The Foxtel DxD 1000 is a result of combined skills between UEC Technologies and Design Matters.
