Arnold Schwarzenegger kicked off the recent CeBIT exhibition with the following inspirational words: “Losers whine but winners move forward in a strong and powerful way.”
Over 300 Rittal employees from all over the world were excited at the visit of Governor Schwarzenegger and Chancellor Merkel to the Rittal stand at CeBIT. Bernd Eckel explains the energy efficiency of the Rittal highlights to Arnold Schwarzenegger and Dr Angela Merkel. From left to right: Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg (German minister for economic affairs), Willi Schmid (Rittal executive vice president responsible for Asia), Bernd Eckel (Rittal executive vice president in charge of international sales), Arnold Schwarzenegger (Governor of California), Dr Angela Merkel, Friedhelm Loh (chairman of the board and owner of Rittal), Dale E. Bonner (secretary business, transportation and housing, California), Teri Takai (chief information officer, California)
Rittal’s presentation at CeBIT, complete with a live display of an operational data centre and more than 100 innovations spread over an exhibition space of 1700 square metres, provides impressive proof that the company is one of the winners. Schwarzenegger, Governor of CeBIT partner state California, and German Chancellor Dr. Angela Merkel were keen to see this proof for themselves and visited the Rittal stand early on the first day of the show. They were accompanied by the new German minister for economic affairs, Karl-Theodor zu Guttenberg.
Friedhelm Loh, chairman of the board and owner of the Friedhelm Loh Group in which Rittal is the largest company, welcomed the illustrious guests to Rittal’s stand in Hall 12 and told them “We not only claim that using our technologies boosts efficiency and helps the environment, we prove it too.” Bernd Eckel, vice president in charge of international sales at Rittal, addressed Governor Schwarzenegger directly, saying “California has indicated its intention to achieve energy savings of 20% in the public sector by 2015. Today, Rittal will show you how to achieve this.”
Schwarzenegger was impressed. “These are just the kind of solutions I am looking for,” he said and invited the Rittal management team to Sacramento for further discussions. Chancellor Merkel, a regular guest at Rittal stands at the major spring trade fairs, praised the company’s innovative strength. She indicated her interest in the future technologies 'made by Rittal' – in particular eco-friendly fuel cell systems.
It goes without saying that Rittal management did not pass up the chance to draw attention to this highlight of the show, all the more since it is a German-American cooperation project. The RiZone software developed by Rittal for the management of IT infrastructures can be connected directly to Microsoft’s System Centre Operations Manager server management solution.
This allows IT administrators to cut costs if required by controlling consumption levels, if appropriate using an automated process.
