UK Trade & Investment supports NEW SA 2010
28 October 2009
News
Following news that National Electronics Week is launching a brand new electronics exhibition in South Africa, UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) has confirmed plans to support a British joint venture group to NEW SA 2010. This bodes well for the success of the show being held at the Sandton Convention Centre from 9–10 March 2010.
Commenting on the development, NEW SA event director Claire Saunders explains: “We are delighted that the UKTI has decided to support National Electronics Week South Africa since it really opens up the event to UK businesses of all sizes. The time has come for South Africa to be recognised for its design and manufacturing capabilities and by launching the show now, we are providing a perfect opportunity for UK companies to take advantage of the industry’s unique position as it prepares for intensive growth over the coming years. Covering solar/PV, embedded, photonics and process and automation, the show’s broad reach has already attracted the attention of some high profile exhibitors including Arrow Altech, Avnet Kopp, Communica, EBV, EDA, Electrocomp, Laser Stencil Technology, MB Silicon Systems, Radel, Richco, Skiffy, Testerion and VSMT. In fact, I can reveal that we are 25% sold out just weeks after our official launch.”
