National Electronics Week offers IPC certification

News
Being held from 9–10 March 2010 at Johannesburg’s Sandton Convention Centre, National Electronics Week (NEW) South Africa is bringing a host of business, networking and educational opportunities into the local electronics marketplace. And now, thanks to Advanced Rework Technology (ART), the show is also offering electronics professionals the opportunity to gain IPC accreditation.
The team at ART will be using the event to hold two officially certified IPC trainer-level training courses. Running alongside the show, the courses allow attendees to choose between IPC-A-610 ‘Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies’ and IPC/WHMA-A-620 ‘Requirements and Acceptance for Cable and Wire Harness Assemblies’. On successful completion of either course, NEW students will receive a complete training kit enabling them to teach Application Specialist courses. ART is also offering a range of one-day courses at NEW SA, allowing participants to specialise in areas including lead-free soldering, ESD control and wire crimping.
Advanced Rework Technology is a fully independent training organisation which has been delivering training courses since 1988. As one of just a few fully accredited IPC certification centres in the world, ART provides a variety of electronic companies with IPC-certified training at both instructor and operator level. Training is carried out using the latest equipment for soldering and rework of printed circuit boards while, as an independent consultancy, the organisation can also provide valuable advice on specialist electronics equipment.
