Beta LAYOUT offers front panel service

14 April 2010 News

Having pioneered the facility for engineers to purchase PCBs online, Beta LAYOUT South Africa has announced the introduction of an online front panel service. This new service enables users to configure their own front panel designs and place an order directly online and also provides a professional, free-to-download front panel and layout design software, numerous machining options, material thickness, fonts, colours and finishes.

The easy-to-use design software simplifies the configuration and ordering of custom front panels. Customers can choose from many of the standard construction units (eg, ventilators, sub-connectors) which are available in the software’s library. The software calculates the price of the finished front panels and once the design is complete, an order can be placed directly through the software. Alternatively, DXF files from any CAD program can be converted and processed for a small surcharge.

Various front panel materials can be selected from a wide range of natural or coloured anodised aluminium and plastic (acrylic). Material thickness from 1,5 to 3 mm can be selected. The minimum dimensions are 30 x 30 mm, up to a maximum of 300 x 460 mm. High-precision CNC machining, such as drilling (with or without threads), countersunk drills, flat milling and cut-outs are all possible.

The real innovation with Beta LAYOUT’s front panel service comes thanks to the revolutionary full colour printing process. This system is not limited to anodised colours or an expensive silkscreen process and provides full colour printing of images, logos, lettering and scaling.
