RS enhances search tool, adds connector line

19 January 2011 News

RS Components has announced the addition of new functionality and product ranges to its ‘Component Chooser’ parametric search tool. New ranges include optoelectronic components and further electromechanical components, while the tool now enables users to easily filter and find products with 3D CAD models available for free download.

RS has added optoelectronics devices to the 260 000 semiconductor, passive and electromechanical components covered by Component Chooser. It has also increased coverage of the electromechanical component range and cleansed and normalised over 7,5 million attributes. Component Chooser will now also support designers in making smarter LED driver selections. The tool provides an instantly accessible and consistent search and compare tool for the world’s leading suppliers, enabling fast, effective search and selection of electronic components across manufacturers. Customers can go to www.rsonline.co.za/cc, search on all attributes, compare products side by side, and are offered links to support documents such as datasheets, and 3D models where available.

RS Components also recently inked a new global agreement with PRECI-DIP, the Swiss manufacturer of precision interconnect components. RS will represent the PRECI-DIP range by adding over 850 new products to its portfolio, including spring-loaded connectors, PCB connectors, DIL sockets, PGA/BGA/PLCC sockets and screw-machined contacts. RS customers selecting the production-ready packaging option benefit from the ability to order flexible quantities of PRECI-DIP products, packaged ready for automated insertion in industry-stand production environments.
