Conlog, a division of Schneider Electric specialising in electricity prepayment, recognised Arrow Altech Distribution (AAD) as a key partner with a Supplier Excellence Award at the end of last year. The award recognises supplier performance in accordance with Schneider’s Supplier Quality Management Programme comprising of four key categories: delivery, productivity, quality and commitment.
Whilst a number of suppliers were considered for this accolade, AAD’s dedication to Conlog’s business objectives and sustained good performance in all areas made it a natural choice for this inaugural award.
Dion Landman (operations director at Conlog) and Stephanie Podmore (Schneider group purchasing manager) said that the two organisations have been working together for almost 40 years, and over the past few years AAD had overtaken the competition to become a strategic supplier to Conlog. “This award is a reflection of the partnership between AAD and Conlog and the collective commitment and understanding that AAD has of Conlog’s business needs and we can state with confidence and gratitude that they delivered consistently what we needed, when we needed it. 2010 has been an extremely challenging year for Conlog with fourth quarter demands for our products outstripping supply capability, but by working together, we were able to meet our various customer needs – thanks to the ongoing support from AAD.”

“We further take the opportunity to thank both Riaan van Kooten and Sharon Govender from the AAD Durban office, who have been key to the success achieved in 2010. Riaan is particularly well known at Conlog and spends a substantial amount of time on-site with our team and even has a remote office here. Thank you both for your personal commitment and dedication, it is greatly appreciated,” said Landman.
This strong partnership between Schneider Electric and AAD has also been carried through to other operations within the Altech Group of companies in the form of reciprocal business from Schneider with Netstar and Altech Autopage Cellular, with a strong commitment and ambition of growing the relationship even further in the coming years.
