Beta LAYOUT invests in new technology

News
The printed circuit board specialist Beta LAYOUT SA, based in Cape Town, has put a new high-speed drilling system into operation. The MX1 single station system from the German manufacturer Schmoll Maschinen is a high-tech CNC drilling machine which includes CCD technology for inner-layer registration, and can also route both standard and IMS (insulated metal substrate) circuits.
Intricate commands such as engraving, countersinking, tap drilling and control depth milling are also possible on this state of the art machine.
Ian Fennell, plant manager at Beta LAYOUT, comments: “The installation of this advanced drilling and routing machine reinforces our commitment to the South African market. This further enhances our PCB-POOL prototype service due to its versatility, speed and accuracy, offering our customers printed circuit boards of the very highest quality.”
In conjunction with this news, Beta LAYOUT also announced that it has added electroless nickel immersion gold (ENIG) to its list of surface finishes.
