Extremely thin bimetal protector

23 April 2003 Circuit & System Protection Security Services & Risk Management

Pepi's snap action Model S thermal protector is said to be the thinnest type of control of its kind. Equipped with gold diffused contacts for use in low voltage/low current applications, the bimetallic element carries the circuit current for maximum current sensitivity under short circuit conditions.

The snap action has quick make/quick break switching. Temperature differential between opening and closing can vary from 5 to 35°C depending on the no-load calibration temp. As the case is electrically alive, insulation material is available to provide isolation from the circuit. Equipped with gold diffused, fine silver contacts for use on low voltage/low current applications, contact ratings are 10 A/12 V d.c., 10 000 cycles; and 5 A/24 V d.c., 10 000 cycles.
