7 May 2003 News Surveillance Security Services & Risk Management

Rabbit Semiconductor's Rabbit 2000 8-bit microprocessor ranked high in CMP Media's annual embedded market survey for the third year in a row.

According to the '2002 Embedded Market Survey', 10,3% of respondents used Rabbit 2000 8-bit processors in the last 12 months. An even greater number of respondents (18,2%) said they would consider using the Rabbit for embedded designs in the next 12 months, marking an increase in Rabbit market popularity during the last year.

According to the company, 717 responses were received from hardware, software, or integration engineering decision makers who had used 8-bit microprocessors for embedded development during the last 12 months with statistical confidence at ±2,3% at the 95% significance level (there were 1761 total responses to the survey). These high marks reflect Rabbit Semiconductor's strong brand identity and continuing commitment to providing powerful low-cost embedded control products with software and development tool support, ever-increasing I/O availability, and performance, it says.

The Embedded Market Study is one of the most comprehensive and detailed surveys of the embedded systems market. It includes 166 questions that cover market share for MPUs, MCUs, DSPs, memory, logic, software development tools, hardware development tools, and boards - as well as design trends, purchasing factors and time-to-market issues - the study produces data that is invaluable for measuring market penetration, evaluating new technologies or product capabilities, and choosing partners in the fast-paced embedded technology arena.
