Circuit & System Protection
Bourns has introduced a new line of 600 V overcurrent protection products designed to protect telecom networks.
Equipment such as modems, cable modems, fax machines, set-top boxes, point of sale and security systems all require overcurrent protection from lightning strikes and contact with AC power lines. The Bourns MF-R/600 products are designed to protect against an overcurrent condition. This series consists of two base models, the MF-R015/600 and MF-R016/600, which have operating currents with Ihold values of 150 mA up to 160 mA respectively.
These radial leaded devices are available in a number of variations such as narrow and binned resistance ranges for line balancing and longer lead lengths to facilitate board layout. The MF-R/600 series of polymer PTC resettable fuses complements the other Bourns telecom overcurrent protection devices including Multifuse polymer PTCs, Surge Line Protection Modules and Telefuse telecom fuses.
