Shielded 41612 connectors

21 May 2003 Interconnection

Secure transmission of information on data highways requires special security measures, because today more and more high performance data transmission at high speeds is required.

Designed for these requirements are Erni's shielded connectors to DIN 41612/IEC 603-2 and ANSI/VITA Standard for VME 64. ANSI/VITA 1-1994 Version approved April 10, 1995 - this version has 32 shielded contacts and 96 signal contacts plus has the main advantages of a very low return loss, low crosstalk and very low insertion loss.

The shielded type C on a Eurocard with a pitch of N x 2,54 mm uses the standard PCB hole pattern. Erni shielded connectors are mateable with standard (DIN 41612/IEC 603-2) type C connectors.

Main features: superior ground path via the continuous shield on each face of the board connector; low insertion and retention forces - special shielded contact design; ESD protection - early make/last break of 1,0 mm for the shielding contacts; no mismating - the shielding frame prealigns the connectors before mating; non-detachable shielding frame for the male connector; economical assembly of the female connector - solderless termination Erni PRESS-FIT contacts; the male connector is fitted with solder pin contacts; the termination cross sections allow PCB hole diameter to IEC specification.
