High power density AC-DC switcher has low profile

The Westcor Division of Vicor has introduced the FlatPAC-EN, an ultra low profile, EN 61000-3-2 compliant power supply with a power density greater than 1,21 W/cm3.
The FlatPAC-EN, measuring just 233,7 x 127,0 x 35,6 mm, provides up to 500 W of output power from one to four isolated outputs. For full EN compliance, the FlatPAC-EN can provide up to 425 W. It can be configured with any of Vicor's 300 V d.c. input DC-DC converters in full-, half-, or quarter-brick sizes. Accepting inputs of 90-132 and 180-264 V a.c. at 47-63 Hz, the FlatPAC-EN uses a microprocessor-controlled autoranging function.
With passive harmonic current attenuation, it generates extremely low EMI, which simplifies noise filtering and contributes to its high power density. It meets the conducted EMI requirements of FCC Class A and B and EN 55022 Class A, and also meets EN 55022 Class B with an optional AC in-line connector.
