Denver Technical Products recently supplied a Clark Telescopic Mast to the Airtime Division of the SABC, for its new television outside broadcast van. In co-operation with Clark Masts UK, a special version of the WT series was supplied.
The SABC required 10 m extended and 2,2 m retracted, with a headload of 45 kg. This requirement could not be easily met from the standard WT series. Clark agreed to produce a special mast.
Denver Technical Products installed the mast into a Mercedes Benz Sprinter, as well as carrying out other custom work, ie, special cable reels were manufactured together with the holding frames, a custom made compressor was required to fit into a restricted area and a special aluminium fabrication was manufactured to carry antennas and a small camera.
Clark offers a broad range of pneumatic and mechanical masts, suitable for civil and military applications. The considerable resources of the metal fabrication division of Denver Technical Products provide full back-up for maintenance, repair, installation and custom work.
