Power supply specialists, XP, have become Europe's only authorised configuration centre for the Cosel RC series of configurable power supplies. This enables the company to provide 'next day delivery' of customised units based on the leading Japanese manufacturer's 300, 450, 650 and 900 W configurable products. The configuration facility has all major international approvals including UL, CSA and TUV.
Available locally through distributor Vepac Electronics, the power supplies can have between 1 and 12 isolated outputs, each of between 2 V and 48 V d.c. The outputs can be connected in series or parallel for further flexibility, making the RC series suitable for a very wide range of industrial, broadcast, communications and instrumentation applications. Low earth leakage versions, approved to EN60601-1 for medical use, are also available.
RC series power supplies feature remotely-programmable outputs that can, for example, be used to control laser diode voltages to achieve optimum output. They also have a remote on-off function, widely adjustable outputs, over-current protection at 105% of rated output with auto-recovery, over-voltage protection, and typical hold-up time of 20 ms. Ripple and noise is typically 1% peak-to-peak at 20 MHz bandwidth.
The configurable power supplies feature universal inputs (85-264 V a.c.; 120-350 V d.c.) and integral power factor correction to EN61000-3-2. They are 74-80% efficient, depending on the modules selected.
