UK software application firm sets up in SA
13 August 2003
News
One of the UK's leading software application firms, eSAY Solutions, is establishing a permanent presence at Pretoria's Innovation Hub. Just two years old, the company combines a unique mix of IT, science and medical expertise that has already proven to be a winning formula - the firm was recently awarded the UK DTI SMART Study to investigate the uses of cutting edge technologies in clinical drug trials.
Said commercial director Dr Moneeb Awan, who visited South Africa recently with the London Chamber of Commerce trade mission: "While other companies are setting up offices in places like India, we chose South Africa where the main business language is English and the infrastructure is truly of a First World standard.
"eSAY Solutions is involved in developments using mobile technologies such as touchscreen applications that update realtime stock, sales and purchase data remotely, two-way communication of detailed drop off and collection information for drivers," he added.
The Innovation Hub has the financial backing of the SA Government, which has invested R250 million to ensure its success.
