Digital storage oscilloscopes set new performance standards

Spescom MeasureGraph has introduced the Nicolet Sigma digital storage oscilloscope series, which sets new performance standards. This range integrates high accuracy signal acquisition, extensive analysis capabilities and a full-featured Windows PC. The highly portable, large 26 cm touch-screen display provides ease of control, viewing waveforms and measurements while maintaining a small footprint.

The Sigma 30 provides 12-bit resolution on all four channels up to 10 mega samples per second with 0,25% accuracy providing high quality acquisition and analysis for physical signals.

The Sigma 60, with 4 or 8 channel models, has two resolution modes: 8-bit up to 200 mega samples per second for the higher speed electrical applications; or 10-bit resolution to 2,5 mega samples per second, providing a wider dynamic range.

The Sigma 90, with 4 or 8 channels, also has two modes of operation: 10 mega samples per second at 12-bit resolution with 0,25% accuracy and 8-bit at 100 mega samples per second. These selections can be run simultaneously in a dual timebase mode.

The instrument's basic acquisition functions are controlled from the front panel, with more complex functions selected using the touch screen, removing layers of menus.

Running Windows 2000, Sigma instruments allow additional applications to be run for analysis and reporting. Sigma also provides coupling to the outside world via Ethernet, USB or RS232, plus the ability to add a second monitor for operation in dual monitor mode. The PC card adaptor allows insertion of a variety of PC cards including GPIB, modem, memory cards or removable disks.
