Industry leaders Littelfuse and Spectrum Control have agreed to create a joint development programme to focus on a series of passive electromechanical connector solutions with integrated signal conditioning and circuit protection.
These integrated connector solutions will combine the characteristics of mechanical interconnect devices from Spectrum Control with the circuit protection technology of Littelfuse. Spectrum Control will perform the final integration of the products.
"These circuit protection interconnects and modules can be utilised in a number of applications worldwide including medical instrumentation, telecommunications, consumer electronics, test instrumentation and computer and storage equipment," according to Brian Ward, VP of sales and marketing at Spectrum Control.
"This integrated solution approach provides circuit designers the option to easily include superior transient circuit protection functionality in their designs to eliminate the over-voltage transients and ESD events from entering the PCB and disrupting or damaging circuit operation," according to Dave Perry, technical solutions manager at Littelfuse.
