EPSON has developed the SG-9001 series of crystal oscillators, claiming them to be the industry's first compact programmable crystal oscillator with built-in spread spectrum function that reduces the emissions. In these oscillators, the frequency is spread over the specified frequency band and peak energy is lowered.
The oscillators also have: programmable output frequency and spread percentage and selectable centre spread. The devices come in a CA type or JC type package. Applications in office automation equipment, PC peripherals, plasma displays and LCD monitors are envisaged. Output frequencies range from 10 to 166 MHz.
