Rough environmental conditions and vandalism make heavy demands on switches. Schurter's PSE HI (high impact) piezo-switches have been designed specifically for these applications. Piezo-switches do not feature any mechanical moving parts. The benefit is that even under continuous operation there is no risk from loss of functionality due to switches wearing out. In laboratory tests, a life expectancy of over 20 million actuations was achieved, which makes the switch almost service free, says the company.
A unique feature is the enhanced vandal-proof protection of the PSE HI. It has a higher impact resistance of IK06 to DIN EN 50102 specifications. The completely sealed switches also feature fully encapsulated electronics within the housing. This ensures that neither fluids nor dust can penetrate and they meet IP 67 specifications.
The PSE HI switches from the Metal Line product family are available in mounting diameters of 22 and 27 mm for front panel mounting.
Both the actuating surface and the body are made from high grade stainless steel. Various standard typefaces are available for the in-house laser-engraving of the actuating surface. Customer specific type-fonts and symbols are also available.
