HALO has introduced a new series of 10/100 and Gigabit Ethernet backplane transformers. As the communications industry moves to higher speed data transport over the backplane there is an ever-increasing need for higher density transformers. HALO developed the BP series of transformers that greatly reduce the real estate required for single and multiport applications.
The BP series provides an enhanced alternative to 'capacitor coupled' backplane circuits by enabling the Auto-MDIX and auto-negotiation features of current-drive PHYs. This family is ideal in applications where new and legacy boards are connected to the same backplane. This new series has been tested and confirmed by leading silicon vendors such as Broadcom and Marvell.
10/100 transformers are available in single and dual port configurations for daughter cards. Quad, octal and 10 port devices are available in a single package for controller boards. Gigabit solutions are available in single, dual, quad and 5 port packages.
