Navigation-style switches designed for data entry

19 November 2003 Electronics Technology

MEC's Navimec line of joystick style function switches is ideal for all kinds of data entry. This is a further development of the popular Multimec 3 A switch series that is highly reputed for its elegant design.

The Navimec switches include a five-switch arrangement to obtain a joystick function making it possible to navigate up/down/left/right and also have a centre function.

Commonly, people expect pushbutton keycaps to be limited to simple round, square or rectangular shapes and any different design usually incurs expensive custom tooling. Based on a rocker style construction, Navimec offers a very good tactile feel and will be ideal for operating directional functions such as navigating through menus in all types of test and measurement, medical, broadcast and other professional equipment.
