Vishay Intertechnology offers a series of low-profile bridge rectifiers that have a low forward voltage drop and low leakage current in a compact package that enables height and space savings in end products. Key applications are for consumer products with power ratings below 5 W, including power supplies, AC-to-DC converters, battery chargers, lighting ballast, emergency lighting systems, shavers, and telephone switching systems.
Having a very thin body size, just 2,5 mm in height as compared to the 3,2 mm height of the standard DIP bridge, the DFL15xxS series allows designers to minimise consumer products dimensions. The devices feature similar characteristics to standard 1,5 A, 1000 V products, but are claimed to have superior VF and ESD performance.
Key ratings: voltage from 50 to 1000 V; forward current rating of 1,5 A; low forward drop of 0,94 V (typical); low leakage current of 0,3 µA (typical); high surge overload rating of 50 A (peak).
