The Raychem HFT5000 heat-shrinkable fabric tubing from Tyco Electronics is a highly flexible woven fabric tubing designed to provide mechanical abrasion protection for hoses, pipes and wiring harnesses.
HFT5000 tubing consists of polyester and polyethylene which combine to be highly flexible yet grip the substrate securely. The flexibility of this product allows its use in cumbersome applications like bent hoses and other awkward shapes.
HFT5000 tubing shrinks at a 2:1 ratio, resists chafing and other abrasion, yet will not trap water, heat or humidity making it suitable for harsh environments. The product may be cut with standard industrial cutting equipment and is available in seven standard sizes from 12 to 70 mm (expanded diameter). Several non-standard sizes are available in high-volume quantities.
The Raychem Model 105 tunnel oven is suitable for shrinking HFT5000 tubing onto the substrate. The Model 105 tunnel oven is a table conveyor heating system that provides a controlled process for heat-shrinkable products.
