Limitor's temperature detector P can be used wherever protection against overtemperature is required. Specific applications include: protection of primary windings in transfomers, winding protection in small electric motors, and general temperature protection of small electric equipment.
The temperature detector operates independently from any current supply. Temperature detection is effected by means of a bimetal disk dimensioned in accordance with the required cut-off temperature. When this fixed cut-off temperature is reached, this bimetal disk snaps over, breaking the electric circuit.
After cooling down and reaching a lower closing temperature, the bimetal disk automatically returns into its original position and thus makes the electric circuit again.
