C-MAC MicroTechnology, has extended its range of frequency control products with the CFPT-125 series, a range of 7 x 5 x 2 mm SMD temperature-compensated voltage-controlled crystal oscillators (TCVCXO). The CFPT-125 series features a standard frequency stability of ±0,9 ppm over the temperature range of -20 to +70°C.
The CFPT-125 can be supplied on standard tape and reel for SMT manufacture. It is designed to withstand a peak reflow soldering temperature of 260°C for 10 seconds, making it compatible with lead-free soldering processes. The crystal resonator used within the TCVCXO is packaged in a separate, hermetically sealed, container, which the company says virtually eliminates contamination keeping ageing effects to a minimum.
This customer-driven design provides HCMOS output, operates from a 3,3 V supply and draws typically 3 mA. The oscillator frequency is adjustable by means of an external control voltage enabling the frequency to be calibrated to nominal after assembly. Standard frequencies 10, 12,8, 13,0, 14,4, 16,32, 16,384, 19,44, 20,0, 26,0, 32,768, 40,0 (MHz) are available from stock with additional frequencies being developed making them well suited for fast prototyping - leading to potential savings in both design time and cost.
This precision clock source is suitable for a variety of next-generation communication and industrial applications including broadband wireless devices (eg, Bluetooth), test and measurement equipment.
