Lead-free mains relay

10 March 2004 Switches, Relays & Keypads

Omron has launched a new lead-free relay for switching mains circuits to European standards, featuring a compact design and VDE as well as UL and CSA approvals. Designed to switch 10 A loads at the prevailing European 250 V a.c. mains, Omron's G5Q-EU compact single pole relay features a low power coil to save power supply size and cost, and tracking resistance that meets or exceeds CTI250.

Advanced construction makes the G5Q-EU 44% smaller than comparable earlier designs, with an overall case size of only 20,3 x 10,3 x 15,8 mm. Specifically designed for domestic and office appliance applications, the G5Q-EU is recommended for controlling loads such as fans, lights and solenoids in appliances such as ovens, dishwashers, washing machines and similar products.

Maximum switching voltage of 277 V a.c. satisfies a wide range of mains-powered applications. The G5Q-EU comes with SPST-NO or SPDT contacts. Available in PCB mounting form, the relay is available fully sealed and flux protected. Switching coils for 9 V, 12 V or 24 V control circuits are available. The G5Q-EU is free from cadmium as well as lead in its construction.
