Power-One's second series of products in its Nex Family of POL converters, the 5 A YNM, 10 A YNL, and 16 A YNS non-isolated DC/DC converters are optimised for operation from a 3,0 to 5,5 V d.c. IBA bus. These maXyz Intermediate Bus Architecture (IBA) compatible products are designed and manufactured by di/dt, a Power-One Company.
The Nex family combines industry-standard footprints and trim equations with enhanced features and improved electrical and thermal performance. These SMD converters are available in 20,3 x 11,4 x 6,3 mm and 33 x 13,5 x 8 mm packages. The YNL products offer fixed outputs from 0,9 to 3,3 V d.c. The YNM and YNS products provide programmable outputs from 0,75 to 3,3 V d.c. Benchmarked with a 3,3 V d.c. output at 85°C ambient temperature and using only natural convection cooling, all three series deliver their full-rated output current.
Other features include remote ON/OFF, output voltage adjust pin, remote sense, no minimum load requirements, start-up into pre-biased outputs to facilitate sequencing, input under-voltage lockout, thermal shutdown, and over-current protection.
