Variable range of industrial cases

24 March 2004 Manufacturing / Production Technology, Hardware & Services

The practical, large-volume Meditec case system from OKW is used particularly in the fields of measuring and control engineering, medical and laboratory technology as well as in telecoms. This series of cases differs significantly from conventional plastic cases through an innovative, rectangular form, a high level of stability and a consistently high quality surface finish.

The standard Meditec range consists of four basic types, and the overall height of each type can be varied as required through the use of intermediate parts: the E160 version has the dimensions 160 x 200 x 74 mm (L x W x H); the E220 is 160 x 260 x 74 mm. The larger D160 version is available with the dimensions 290 x 200 x 74 mm, and the Meditec D220 is available in the size 290 x 260 x 74 mm.

A further differentiation is possible through the colour selection of the push-on cover, and through the alternatives of versions with or without ventilation. The relevant front and rear panels are available in the same colours, materials and surface qualities as the cases.

The Meditec case is suitable for holding standardised European boards. Each case has an additional four vertical guides in order to be able to accommodate further mounting boards. This is also made possible by a recessed level for projecting operating elements or for operating elements that have to be protected. A front control panel inclined at 45° is available for easy reading of displays and for regulating and controlling operating elements. An externally mounted handle is available for ergonomically favourable inclination of the appliances or for mobile applications.

Available as accessories are: stacking elements for safely placing several units one on top of the other, and fastening elements for easy, external wall mounting.
