LCD and plasma controllers for industry and transport

25 October 2000 Opto-Electronics

Digital View offers three new innovations. These include:

* Built-in flash card video - allows up to 20 minutes of high quality video to play at power-up without degradation. No booting, no DVD or VCR. Touchscreen and external triggers are optional. Units run off 12 V d.c. and there are no data cables.

* Super-bright LCD panels - produce 1600 candela/m2 and make comfortable daylight viewing possible.

* SVP controllers - for plasma and liquid crystal. Drives displays from PAL/NTSC in Composite, S-Video or Component and from PC/MAC at resolutions up to U-XGA (1600 x 1200 pixels). Offers features such as picture-in-picture, input prioritising, RS232 and IR control.

Digital View says the main advantages of LCD are flicker-free images, low power consumption, light weight, compact size, no ventilation required and low fire risk.

Digital View LCD displays and components are distributed in South Africa by Fresh Logic, (021) 448 3823.
