In what is regarded as an important strategic initiative, PC-POS, the exclusive local distributor for the Epson Point of Sale (POS) range - and a member company of the MB Technologies group - is to launch its own range of touch-screen LCD panels to complement its existing range of Digipos POS terminals.
PC-POS Sales and Marketing Manager, Regan Atkins, says the new units are being developed under licence by two new internationally-renowned business partners.
PC-POS SA is a subsidiary of PC-POS, which is partly owned by MB Technologies.
"This is an important strategic move for PC-POS as now all of the nine subsidiaries within the group, including PC-POS SA, will be able to leverage off this initiative in their respective regions."
Atkins says the company is aiming to capture 20-25% of the local touch screen market within 12 months.
The development of the new touch-screen LCD panels also signals the first time that the company has introduced its own modular, touchscreen panels. Atkins believes the introduction of the new range will strengthen the company's existing monitor range as well as allow it to compete for additional business in the retail and hospitality touchscreen market, where Digipos - a modular range of POS terminals and peripherals - already enjoys a strong presence.
"Combined with our Epson range of printers and touchscreen integrated systems, we are now able to offer clients more of a choice. We expect the introduction of the new Digipos touchscreen LCD panels to significantly strengthen our market standing and offerings - as well as add to our operating revenue stream."
