Zoom volume control for fingertip operation

19 May 2004 Passive Components

As a part of its efforts to develop easy-to-use input devices, Alps has developed the RK10N series of 10X zoom volume control, which feature a resistor travel distance ideal for fingertip-operation of compact and high-power zooms.

The RK10N series operates in a circular arc movement ideal for fingertip operation. In addition, it features a self-returning construction where the lever returns to the centre position, enabling easy fingertip operation. It features a two-coil spring structure that replaces the torsion spring used in previous products. As a result, the product has a long resistor sliding distance, which is ideal for compact bodies and high-power zooms of digital cameras and other devices.

Excluding lever and attachment dimensions are 10 x 4,2 x 5,05 mm (W x D x H) and operational angle is 26° (±13°). Nominal total resistance and permissible range is 50 kΩ, ±30%. Power rating is 0,0125 W.
