Power-One has introduced a 96,2% ultra-high efficiency quarter brick DC-DC converter capable of delivering up to 300 W of power for 12 V d.c. intermediate bus architecture (IBA) applications.
The QTS48T25120-NDA0 is designed for use in systems with regulated 48 V (42-53 V d.c.) inputs, and provides a 4:1 proportional ratio unregulated IBA 12 V d.c. output voltage. Unregulated topology, with outputs directly proportional to the input, allows a reduction of the overall component count, and makes the QTS extremely reliable and cost effective.
The QTS operates over a PC board temperature range of -40 to +85°C, and can deliver industry-leading performance of 258 W of power, with airflow of 200 LFM up to 70°C ambient temperature and 48 V d.c. input voltage. The QTS48T25120-NDA0 converter offers a rich feature set including, input overvoltage protection, output overcurrent protection, 2000 V d.c. input-to-output isolation, overtemperature protection, and remote On/Off. For higher current output requirements, the devices can also be paralleled. The converter is available in a 36,8 x 57,9 x 10,2 mm standard pinout, low-profile quarter brick package that does not require a heatsink. They can also be ordered with positive or negative logic control, a variety of pin lengths to accommodate PCBs of varying thickness, and a paralleling option.
